Whatcom? HUH?

Postby Travis » Mon Sep 27, 2004 10:39 pm

I was just finishing up a little flight in my Howard 500 when I checked my map and noticed something odd.

It was a VOR station just east of Vancouver, BC in Canada.

Whatcom (HUH)
Freq: 113.00 MHz

Go check it out . . . ;)

(And no, it isn't an addon, I don't have any installed)

That is the VOR just northeast of Bellingham.  It is on the actual Seattle sectional chart. ;)

Then name is pretty funny.  When I was working as a ramp rat at Tacoma Narrows I met this Lear pilot who must have had a lot of time on his hands waiting for his passengers.  He came up with a poem that used the various names of intersections and navaids.  He is a real funny guy! ;D  He had another poem called "Death by Lear", which was also interesting.  I wish I could remember how it went, but it was so long ago... ;D
