help for landing with wind

Postby jeremyclarkson575 » Thu Sep 23, 2004 3:06 pm

I studied the Rod Machado's Lesson but i think is not enough for learning well how to land a plain with some wind. I tried to do it but i cant make the plane go straight for landing. I use the metod in wich you point to another direction but you go towards the runway all goes perfect until is the time to set straight te plane for landing pointing to the runway, could someone help me with this?

Keep your offset angle until touch down. When you touch down, your momentum and direction of travel will straighten you out.

To understand better which direction your craft is moving, don't look too far ahead. I watch the ground under me. If the ground is moving in the direction toward the runway, your fine.

A good way to practice this is to kick up some wind, I use about 50kts. Then try to fly between the buildings of a big city.  This helps you to focus on the direction of travel, not the direction of the aircraft.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.
