737-400 APProach

Postby Peedy » Tue Sep 21, 2004 4:19 pm

Just registered with the Forum. It is quite brilliant. Got FS2004 (FS9) today. It has loaded OK. Fantastic sim and I am really excited about it. I have a small problem with the APProach control on the 737-400 autopilot. As the plane turns onto the ILS and APP engages the plane soars into the sky almost at rocket angle, the speed drops and so does the plane of course. The APP works OK on the 777 and the 747 autopilots and these planes land. Is there an answer? Hope you great guys can help

Make sure that you have the NAV/GPS switch in the NAV position. Make sure that you have the proper intercept altitude on the A/P selected and ALT selected.
If these don't fix the problem and an extremely knowledgeable young man by the name of Nexus doesn't reply to this thread. Go to the members section and send him a PM and I'm sure he'll have a good answer.   ;)
.....so I loaded up the plane and moved to Middle-EEEE..........OIL..that is......

Ottol, thanks for the help. I am meeting the criteria you mention and as I said the fault is peculliar only to the 737-400. All others are OK. I perhaps thought it might be a known issue and therefore an update may have been devised. I'll wait a couple of days and then try to find Nexus as you suggest. Thanks once again

737-400 APP update

Postby Peedy » Wed Sep 22, 2004 5:58 pm

Have used 737-400 today and APProach appears to work OK on all variations. Once again, thank you Ottol, must have been a gremlin, baffled by it, but happy.

Noooo problem!!!   I HAVE seen the same thing happen. Can't explain it though.

Maybe it's a  programmed, simulated malfunction? ! ?   :D
