missing countries in fs 2004

Postby palb » Thu Aug 26, 2004 8:55 pm

Not sure if this is my problem or a fs 2004 problem.  I was trying to use the "World - go to airport" feature in fs 2004 to get to St Martin, which is an island in the Caribbean, only to find out that it was not among the listing of countries on the list.   Well, I decided to fly to it, as I know where it is on a map and was able to find it and land etc.   The question is:  Was this a Microsoft omission? and how can I fix this?

Thanks guys, Patrick

St. Maarten isn't a country, but a city  ;)

It's actually two countries. Sinte Maartin (Dutch) and St. Martin (French). The island was split in two although there is not official border between the two nations. Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch side and it is situated along side the bay at the far south of the island. Marigot is the capital of the French side. It is on the far west of the main island (before the peninsula). The island has two working airport. Princess Juliana International is the main airport and it is situated on the Dutch side. Grand Case is a small airfield located in a valley on the French side.

Here's a picture I took while I was there in 2002. I took this from Pinot Island which is a small Island just off the infamous Orient nude beach. Not a place I'd want to visit because they only people who seem to take their close off are saggy people over 60.    :o

Most importantly, it's not "Saint Martin", it's "St. Maarten".
Great edit, Bob.
