Game minimizes like clock work

Postby Rachet1031 » Sun Aug 22, 2004 12:45 am

Need some help here. A problem has come up When flying FS9. The game starts fine but after about 3 minutes it minamizes to desktop and pauses. click and restore the game and 3 minutes later same thing. This a problem that just started and is driving me nuts.
I ran adaware and spybot and the system appears clean. Is there a setting that I might be missing? Or any suggestions

That sounds like another program is starting up somewhere and interrupting your sim. I had that problem too and found out it was my firewall program trying to log on to the internet to check for updates.

Check to see what's running at the same time as ACOF. If there's nothing obvious then I would suggest a good scan for a virus. Whatever it is it definately sounds like something is starting up and minimizing the sim.

Go to www.fs-ds.com and download the shareware program (donations are not required, but a nice tough) that shuts down most programs behind the scenes before it starts up FS9. Also improves framerates too because it stops other RAM hogging programs. Once FS9 is turned off, it restarts everything for you.

SaVas, would you be able to post the link again.  I tried the one you posted, and it came up empty.  I have never tried the programs like that and would be interested in knowing more.

Thanks... ;D

Just to back up SaVas after he caught his error...

The site is www.FS-GS.com NOT  fs-ds.

Did you find more coffee? My problem is I'm developing dyslexic fingers.

Sorry gus got sent out of town on a job but still have the problem.
Jordon, the only thing I see is the flt sim go desk top, there appears to be internet traffic of some sort by my firewal indicator. but the log indicates nthing
I tried deleting the config file as suggested and also got the shareware program all with n luck.
I did a restore to point when I know the sim was running ok and still no luck.
I have gone at another site for spyware and posted the HiJack this log and hope to here frm them soon.
Will keep you posted on the progess.

In the mean time I guess Ill just fly and click every three minutes  :D
