I think that I can translate Afi0yz, however, since the post isn't clear, I'm not real certain that I can get it right.

Apparently B42L8 downloaded a set of Add-On Cloud Textures.

It is also posable that he down loaded flights with certain cloud coverage. If this is the case they probably will show up in the select a flight menu rather than the create a flight menu.I have seen these kinds of flights where they set up the weather for a approach to a airport, or goes from point A to point B with certain weather conditions in route. I have flown a few of these myself.

:)Thanks for you specific answers , you are correct in your assumptions, I did unzip the cloud to a separate folder but did not backup, so will do that.......a;so the download stated it was for FS 2004 Scenery, so that is where I pasted it, but in looking at the texture folder there were cloud files in there so that was confusing.......I think best approach now is to uninstall this whole program and start over..thanks also for info on where the clouds appear, thought  we needed to enter a specific weather setting.........this flight sim stuff is addicting but it certainly helps to know the way around the computer    thanks to all

Mostly correct B42L8.

If I wish to modify my FS 2004 Textures I put the old *.bmp files into a Backups Folder under the Main FS 2004\Textures directory.  I don't delete them.  I downloaded a set of modified cloud textures a long time ago and installed them as per my directions above.  I backed up my original FS 2004 cloud textures. My FS 2004 original cloud textures are still in my Main FS 2004\Textures\Backups directory.

If you have your new cloud textures in the Main FS 2004\Textures directory you should be OK.  Does this work?

???Graycat, pls advise if this is correct...under Texture, I have CLOUDTEXTURES, below that, a folder-New Cloud Texture Setup(did that), folder-Screenshots........below that , under CLOUD TEXTURES, folder, Extended Clouds Un-install................my default Cloud folder is in My Downloads.........could make a backup folder in FS 9?........re: working,  clouds still look like the default   ( maybe I got the default in somewhere else so still working??)  Hope this makes sense

Yeaaah -- I see what you did.  Okay, If memory serves correctly you should have only one sub-folder under your Main FS 2004\Textures directory.  I have mine named Backups.  This is where I keep all of my old texture files.

The individual *.bmp files for the new cloud textures should be Copy/Pasted directly into your Main FS 2004\Textures directory.

Here's the way it should look when you view it through Windows Explorer:

Main FS 2004--|
                       |__Texture--|
                                           |__Backups Folder (inside are old *.Bmp files)
                       |__cirrus_broken01.bmp
                       |__cirrus_broken02.bmp
                       |__cirrus_broken03.bmp
                       |__cirrus_broken.bmp
                       |__cirrus_few01.bmp
                       |__cirrus_few02.bmp
                       |__cirrus_few03.bmp
                       |__cirrus_few.bmp

See ?  The *.bmp files are just under the Main FS 2004\Textures directory.  They are not inside another folder.

So you may want to open one of those extra folders that contain the new cloud textures and click Edit in the main Windows Explorer menu, then click Select All.  The files will all turn blue, gray, brown, etc. (according to what your highlight color is).  Right click on any one of these highlighted files and then left click on Copy.

Next go "up" one Windows Explorer level by clicking on the folder icon with the green arrow pointing up.  This should put you into the Main FS 2004\Textures directory.  Now right click on any open space and left click Paste.  You may get a window to appear which states something to the effect that "The files that you are copying are already here -- do you wish to Overwrite"?  Click the button Yes to All.

Once you have placed the new files into the Main FS 2004\Textures directory I would then delete all of the other sub-folders (except the one which contains your old cloud textures of course).  This will eliminate confusion.  You should have everything fixed up from here.
