Any new FS9 user will want link(s) on the desktop to the HTML Help files which are located in FS9/FSWeb folder. "How to Use the GPS" MUST be printed out (42p.) Good Luck.

FS9 is the ninth edition (the latest so far) of the flight simulator series by Microsoft. So FS9 is really Flight Simulator 2004. :)

Welcome to FS9
Well its no secret to some who have had the sim for a while but most of the things that made fs2002 a great sim is now payware for fs9.but the best thing you can get thats freeware is AFCAD youll probley halft to fix some airport errors at a few of the airports or learn to live with them.but this tool will fix the few problems that microsoft left behind.and thats my tip of the day on the must haves for the sim in the freeware dept.

Add-ons really comes down to where you fly and what kind of kites you like, you'll get as many answers as there are minutes in a year with this.
Best bet is to go to our downloads pages, and just browse, or if you have a specific desire use the search function (both are available on the front page here).
Oh one add-on we don't have here that everyone should get is the Airport Enviroment Upgrade package, its at avsim.net and the filename is AUE_MX.
Another must is the Enhanced Water Textures at http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery11.htm

As far as I know it is all here.  There are 10's of thousands of airports in FS, so it should be there.  As for KC-135, just look through the downloads section you might just find one.

There is no easy answers for your first question.  You just have to load it fly it, download what you like by searching for it, and tweak it. ;D  It is not easy, and takes a lot of time to build up your hangar, but well worth it.  The time that you put into FS, you will get double if not triple in return (talking about the enjoymen/fun factor) ;D.  I have been doing this since FS 5, and not one regret.... ;D
