scenery ... edges

Postby Omag 2.0 » Fri Jul 23, 2004 1:31 pm

Hi all,

Since some time i've been having trouble with edges in the landscape. As one flies, there is alwas a highly detailed "spot" of ground around the aircraft. Further away there is less detail and even one step further there is no detail at all.

I know this is the way the passing landscape is build, but it seems to me that the blurred areas are becomming bigger and the detailed areas become smaller.

What could be affecting this and how can it be improved, keeping in mind i ain't having the heaviest of grafics-cards.  ;)

Any commends are welcome...

Omag old bean you are clearly not drinking enough Stella. Drink a few more and everything blurs nicely together and then you are ready to face the Golden Gate in inverted heavies ;)

Which drivers are you using.  typically, the 4x.xx series works best on the Ti4200.  Try playing around with the view distance, trilinear filtering, texture size, and other graphical settings and see what happens.

Is there not a tweak in the fs9.cfg that can be made? I am sure I have read a thread on here before about it but I cannot remeber what it is you hva to adjust.  It alters the distance away from the aircraft that the ground textures start to get less detailed.
AMD64 3500+ @ 2200MHz 400FSB
