KLAX to YSSY (and back eventually) which usually takes anywhere between 12.5 and 13.5 hours to complete. I get up at 6:30 in order to do it all in one day! and for people who have done the around the world trip, what is the longest LEG of the trip?

I've done LAX-SYD trip before, very long! It depends on what the longest leg of the RTW trip is. It varies because not everyone visits the same cities. But next time I attempt RTW I'll start in Quito, Equador (nearly on the equator) then choose the right heading that will take me on the same path as the equator. Should get around with two or three stops in the 747 :-]

I dont do a lot of long flights, but last week I flew from Van Nuys to Honolulu (KVNY-PHNL) in Mike Stone's Gulfstream V.

That is my longest flight I ever made.

Wow Hongzhu.
I take it you saved at each airport and restarted at a later date.

I would love to fly around the world, stopping at major airports in one sitting.

Sounds like a good challenge  8) .

My longest flight is when I took a B-17 from San Francisco to Honolulu. It took about 14 hours*, and I only used an ADF and a compas for navigation.

*This was all real time sitting in front of my computer. No changing the time rate and leaving the computer ;D

I did Las Vegas to Capetown last week in the new 7e7 in Virgin livery (in FS2002) - around 16 hours. (Then 'coptered to the top of Table Mountain.) Used the 16x acceleration for the main flight though!

MS should really remove that feature, too many people use it  ;) .

I start off intending to fly real time, but I have a lack of attention when sitting watching the scenery go by.  I think the longest I have been able to sit still with out hitting R+ is 2 hours. :D

Flying in real time is great, but for long-hauls you just have to accelerate it. Keeping up with the ATC is fun sometimes!

Doing Sydney to New York right now but I'm not sure how long it will take.  I've removed all the passengers and baggage from the 747 and squeezed in every drop of fuel I can!

My longest flight was a trip from KSFO to KDCA by helicopter, it took several weeks flying a couple of hours each day (no autopilot, and I had to land without crashing at each stop, if I did crash, I flew it again). It became torture toward the end, and I never made the round trip...Longest attempt was from KSFO to RJTT.  I made it all the way to PGUM, but fell asleep and found myself on the runway back in SF...

when i finish my 737, i plan on taking it around the world using the 737 Experience comemorative livery (still in project)

and i won't do long legs. i plan on stopping on as many cities as i can.

the good thing about the 737 is that you don't need a MAJOR international airport to land it on ;)

BTW: has anyone ever tried the nonstop RTW trip on the rutan voyager?

i guess that would be the longest leg ::)

c ya

I tried to make one without simulation rate from maiquetia-Venezuela to New Zeland in B777 I slept in the computer's chair for about 7 hours then when i was about 1 hour to land (cant remeber the airports name)i run out of fuel,i tried to set it in unlimited fuel(realism setting) and couldn't restart the engines and I crash, i'm almost 40 but i did wanna cry in that moment at 4:00pm
