If your system can do it, 20 - 25 fps is what you should get. Anything higher your eye will not even notice. I don't think this is the reason your PC keeps crashing though. Can you be a bit more specific?

I think i'm gonna sell the game . i just downloaded a plane and put into the aircraft folder and when i started the game it sayed that it had detected faulty files and then the game crashed and my computer completly re-booted . This is about the tenth time i re-installed and uninstalled FS 2004 on my computer , and it seems that nobody can help me or maybe i'm just too stupid to do it right .

It would help if we knew which plane you were having trouble with.

Does the error appear when you use one of the included planes?

In some cases, you need to copy the gages into a different folder.  The README files usually tell you what to do.

Sell the game?  Don't be too eager to throw the baby out with the bathwater!

Even more interesting is the fact that you've got a 4Ghz processor.  Out of curiosity, where'd you score that beast?

I've yet to find one faster than 3.4 Ghz.

Check that spec again.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

I have problems with when the gauges , sounds and effects are not in the aircrafts folder , and then i have to copy and paste stuff that goes into their own folders .
I think i'm messing up there . Of course i'm not selling the game , i'm just a little frustrated that it keeps screwing up .

I had the game installed on my third harddrive , and now i have reinstalled the game on my C-drive . My computer is only months old and i checked all the drivers and they're all up to date even the latest update driver for the radeon 9800 series .

Go here  http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm for help in installing add-on aircraft.

Once you get a handle on where FS wants the files placed its pretty easy. Also make sure the aircraft are FS9 compatible, anything from the FS9 download section or most later FS2002 models (made with FSDS or GMax).

Cheers,
Dave

Uhh...begging your pardon Saitek, but I don't think that's particularly constructive...yes, I'm new and not, I'm not your dad, but I'd hate to chase away a member...
