I know its an old fashion way to do it but

hit print screen on your keyboard and open i.e. paintbrush and paste the picture in there

old fashion but it works :)

Get hold of a utility called FSScreen, it will allow you to take up to 999 screenshots by pressing the Print Screen key without having to leave the sim after every shot 8)

There are several programs you can use to do screen shots, but I just hit the print screen button and go to paint shop pro, and copy it and then save it, and do whatever I am gonna do with it, like make splash screens or whatever  ;D

One snag.
FSScreen saves the picture as a BMP file immediately. You can save up to 1000 pictures in one session.

This means you would have to convert the images to JPG format before posting them here. A better option might be MultiGrab. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/mgrab.htm

There are plenty of these screengrab utilities around. GrabClipSave also seems to be popular. I haven't tried it as MultiGrab does all I want.

PS. I see no reason why the old-fashioned PrintScreen method the others described won't work. I often use it for my own shots as it can be more convenient.

The method I use makes the images darker (especially bad for night shots...would I be better off using something like MultiGrab or Irfanview?

I take a lot of screenshots every day. All I ever use is MultiGrab or the old-fashioned one-shot clipboard method.* I use IrfanView for capturing single shots & cropping/resizing all the images I post here including screenshots. You can lighten an image if necessary from the IrfanView "Enhance Colours" option. I sometimes tweak the Gamma correction to make them show up better & don't consider this as editing.

*PS. Hit the PrintScreen key to save the shot to the Clipboard. (Alt + PrintScreen will capture the active window.)
If FS is running minimise the sim. Run IrfanView & hit Ctrl + V to retrieve the image from the Clipboard. Resize the image as necessary & Save As in JPG format.

What about using IrfanView to lighten shots (specifically night shots)...is it still permissible to post these in the freeware screenshots forum?
