Weird problem

Postby L2004ynx » Sun Jun 20, 2004 2:49 pm

Hi,
Im not sure if anyone will be able to help me with this one, but here goes.

Ive had the strangest of problems with fs2004 the last couple of times ive loaded up. Basically whats happening is as I take off the plane which tends to be the larger jet ie:747 757 etc has been leaning over to the left almost going into the ground. Anyway i switched views to spot and noticed that the entire tail was moving up like a flap would, and ended up in a 45 degree angle to the rest of the plane. I know it sounds weird and if i could post a screenshot then i would but not sure how to do that yet.
Unlikley i know but has anyone else experienced this strange thing happening, and if so could you please tell me how to resolve it. :)

Without a screeshot, it is difficult to help you.  Here is how to take screenshots:

1. pause the game

2. select the view you want (Such as the outside view in the case of mine)

3.  press the Print Screen key

4.  Ctrl+Alt+Del out of FS2004 (without closing it) and open MS Paint.

5.  hit Ctrl+V or select Paste from the Edit menu.

6.  Save the image.

Volia!  You have an image ready to use as wallpaper in your machine.

Later, when you're done flying,  You can upload the image.  Here are the instructions to do so.

Bear in mind the restrictions for the images (the size of the image in pixels, the size of the file).  You WILL need to edit the image taken with the above steps.  To do so, I used a program called PIXresizer.  It's quick, and stupid-simple to use (just the way I like it).

Stratobat told me about it (thanks again Stratobat)

You can find Pixresizer here.

Jordonj, you don't need to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of FS2004.  All you need to do is press Alt+Enter and then minimize.

I have had the same problem many times.....It is usually because the autopilot has been left on...try hitting"z" and check the AP to ensure it is off...

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. Im not sure if my image is gonna appear or not but it shows the problem i have. The last post i received regarding my problem has rang a bell as when i load fs at the moment when its finished loading and im in my cockpit the plane already seems to be in autopilot mode for some reason. Everything seems to be on alt/speed/fd so i turn these off and the problem disappears. Trouble is next time i load they are all back on again. I think this is where my problem lies but i dont know why its loading with autopilot already engaged?

I've fixed it & also resized it for you.

I don't see how a shot helps. I suspect your problem is with your joystick or other input device. Check the connection & try recalibrating it.

PS. If the problem is the autopilot switch it off & save the flight. Check the "Make this the default flight" box.

But surley the tail shouldn't be pointing down like that..or am i missing something. I did recalibrate my joystick by the way as that was my first thought :)

The image was named weird.JPG. I resized & renamed it weird.jpg before uploading it.

Thanks very much for your help..It does seem to have been the autopilot, so I have done as you said and turned it off then saved as default flight. All seems to be well now. Thanks for sorting my upload for me aswell. I dont know what people like me would do without forums like these. Thanks again to all :)
