Heathrow Runway 09L............

Postby FlyingFinn2 » Wed Jun 09, 2004 7:04 pm

Hello guys, i have serious problems with ILS approach in Heathrow Rwy 09L, my plane never can do a right landing, my plane is displaced a little bit off from the Rwy... i have to turn off APP for landing correctly. Altitude APP when descending automatically works fine, but my plane is off the rwy and dont correct it automatically.
I tried landing there with 8 planes, ALL the default planes( 737,777,747) and some add-on planes, with the same results. All my approaches are good, no problems, but is only in 09L in Heathrow.
Someone have this problem?

Thanks!

I'm not sure about this particular runway but it isn't unusual for the ILS to be offset in FS.
There have been several postings about this before.

On the other hand it is quite normal in real life to turn of AP once established on final approach.

One has to rember that approach means just that APPROACH not land. You use the approach button to get you set up on the glide slope then turn it off & land manualy. I am quite sure that you could actually use approach & land suessufuly with. But it is more luck than anything else. In the real world most comerical aircraft do have a autoland system but this is not the same thing as the approach button. 8)

I downloaded a AFCAD file for Heathrow, and now all works fine. On a An-124 the landing was perfect.
I dont know maybe is my method for landing ;D and i have so much to learn. Every day we can learn something. :D
