Help with old gauge

Postby capndon » Sun Jun 06, 2004 12:25 pm

Helo folks   I just switched my FS2004 over to a new computer and I have this old GPS guage that Ive used for years on older versions of FS going back to FS 5.1.  It has always worked great in the older versions and it worked ok in my old computer with FS2004.  The new computer has windows XP and the old one has ME This is the only thing I can think of that might be the problem.

   I did put a section in the FS9 cfg file called        [OLDMUDULES]
FSSOUND.DLL=1
FSUIPC.DLL=1
and I have those modules in the FS9 modules directory.
I have version 3.04 of FSUIPC.

   Its an old guage created by David Druin several years ago and has served me well so I would like to keep it going.  If anyone has any other ideas I would greatly appreciate the help.

New computer is  a 3.0g pent 4  512 DDR  64m intergrated graphics.

well if you put it in exactly as you have typed thats why it isn't working.

it should be

[OLDMODULES]

I have the exact same module fssound.dll and it works fine on my pc and I am using XP too.

If your Fsuipc is an updated one you wont need to put it in as an oldmodule as it will be 2004 compliant.

You never did mention what gauge it was. I know that on my new machine with XP, there are some that I could not carry over from CFS2 and FS2k2.

One that comes to mind off the top of my head was the Fuel Stat gauges. Would crash back to DT when I tried to load a panel that had them on it.

I do have it in as [OLDMODULES]  I just typed it wrong in my letter  and thanks for the tip on the new version of FSUIPC  Ill take that out  since I dont need it.

  The guage Im trying to get to work is a GPS guage made by David Druin about 5 years ago.  I guess it is one that want work with XP.  Thanks anyway

If it is the ACS GPS then there are problems with it and XP. Mine works, but others have had problems and me and others have tried to figure out why.

IF this is the gauge you are talking about, let me know and I will go through some possible things that might fix it.
