Hi David,

KGCN is Grand Canyon Natl. Park and kinda splits Grand Canyon to the west and Marble Canyon to the east/north.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

The airport ID is 1Z1 I have flown out from that airport and it is the closest That I have found
