hot spots around the world

Postby cleobis » Fri Apr 30, 2004 10:49 pm

Hi there, I've been flying fs for a long time since fs4, but never did an around the world tour so....

I'd like to see your suggestions of nice airports, or good places to see in the world that you discovered in your flights, or just an anormal scenery created by our friends the programmers  ;)

I intend to fly in props, still don't know if I'll do it in a particular plane or diferent ones (there are so many great planes..) so if any of you made previous RTW flights in props please let me know your preferences, also I'd like to do it online, vatsim or ivao, what's the best?

well I appreciate any coment but mostly I'd like to hear your oht spots preferences  ;D

thks ;D

Your first question has thousands of answers. I would say fly over the Finger Lakes of New York State because that where I'm from.  Another might say fly over the Rocky Mountains. I guess what I am trying to say is just be random on your flight.

I've flown around the world in a prop (Floatplane) and visited 100 cities. Try going to places you've never heard of; it can be quite interesting! Part of my RTW brought me to Indonesia and as I was getting ready to land at a certain city, I noticed a very large volcano. At least I'm assuming it was, since there was a large crater on top and Indonesia has lots of them. I'm not sure which city it was in but it is either next to Kupang or Sumbawa. Komodo Island is near here too (Sumbawa)

yes, nz is a must :D also I'm thinking of starting the flight by descending africa till SA and then from there, still not sure if I go north india china australia or south to the south pole. I'd like to do a non standard trip around the world (europe - russia - states - canada - iceland - europe) I'd like to go more into the wild, so my initial idea (very rough still) : portugal - south africa - south pole - argentina - alaska - russia - china - india - australia - new zeland - australia - india - europe - portugal! this are the basics, now I need to add a LOT of stops everywhere and I'm flying a prop so still need to choose one (have some ideas) and see it's range to see if it works.

thks for all the comments! ;)
