As fare as the cat goes I have tried to help you as far as I can. my last option is uninstall the gauges and the f-14 and try again. Mine is working fine so ???
And Steve if you have not gotten my email yet the Deck_1 file goes straight into the main fs texture folder  (C:\Program file\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Texture) not the addon folder. Read the readme very closely

Can anyone ele suggest something else i can do with it?? I tried again last night and it still didn't work.

I i set the speed at 000 and then arm the cat switch, when i get above 85 knots it just flicks down again. and if i arm the switch at 250 knots which is the set launch speed of an F/14, i just doesn't stay armed it makes the launching noise and flicks back down and at the end of the cat i ma still at 90 knots..

Frustrateing stuff, All i can remember is when i installed the panel i changed one configeration and that was to seperate the after burners coming on when i turned the nav lights on, like it was a lighting effect. MAybe i should just reinstall that panel u are giving me and see if it works...

Why me!!! :S  :-[ :'( lol

allosaurus1. Got your e-mail and thought I replyed, maybe not, anyhow I put the deck-1 file in the right texture folder and still nothing, just a white deck. There are static aircraft and figures and even a few carts, as I said , I installed carr2004 and it all seems to work except for the deck, oh yea funny thing is that  the carrier off north island was changed into a cruse ship in fs9, it now has an ils and vor feather. ;D. Jared I'm wondering if it might not be my vidio card. There are other items in the game that are not quite right as well and I've been told that it is my card causing those problems.

The New Zealand Carrier stuff is the Waikato1 stuff. I have it and it is very nice.

ON that one, if I remember right, you start out in the hangar. I have gotten myself to the lift and can't figure out how to get the lift to activate. lol

Yes, it's the Waikato and it's the best I've seen.

NOTE....I use Todd McKee's F-14 carrier panel.

Here's how I use it.  As you mentioned you start out on the hanger deck. I then use Slew Mode (hit "Y") move sideways onto the hanger elevator. Here's the weird part....sometimes it pops up to the flight deck on it's own yet other times I have to hit the "Q" key to go up. Anyways, no matter how I get there when I get to the flight deck I slew over until I am lined up with the catapult and my nose gear is inside the yellow lined box. I hit Y to leave slew mode....on the F-14 I hit F9 to extend the wings and flaps to max. I then arm the Catapult....FULL throttle....about 3-4 seconds later the catapult rockets me off the deck!  Gear up quick....I tap the F6 key every 10 seconds to raise the flaps and swing the wing back.

Now....if I could only get my carrier landings above 2/10  ;D

Faxcap

How did u install the panel.
I have tired everythng possible but the cat switch doesn't stay armed. It just flicks down as soon as i flick it up and makes the launching noise... What do u think is wrong with it.

I havew followed the readmes to a 't' and nothing. I was thinking i might change the value on the cat gauge line. what do think

Hi FlyBoy

I followed the ReadMe....that's about it.  I have never
seen that problem in either of the 2 versions of F-14
carrier panels I have tried.

I get the feeling maybe you have something else ON or
OFF (like the tail hook down??) that causes the CAT to
disarm.  It's just a guess FlyBoy....let me know what you
find.

FlyBoy  This may sound strange but did you install the air file and the new aricraft.cfg file that came with the panel?

Also you might try this, edit you gauge for the catapult speed, I beleave it is gauge42=dsd_catapult!catapult,  232,1113,34,25,300160. I changed the 300160 to 300250. this gives me 250 on the cat' and I don't have to change it for each launch.

Also after you pull up to the cat' if you don't hit "ctrl+ . " before you try to arm the cat' you will launch with in a few seconds.  ctrl + . sets your parking breaks.

Steve..

I did install the config file but the air file ??? what is that..
I do also set the parking brakes b4 arming the cat..

My main problem is when arming the switch. when i flick it up, i just hear the lanching sound and don't move ne where and the switch flicks down as soon as i flick it up.

i don't know whats going on with it.

Stressin me out man ..

flyboy If you copied the file f14b Tomcat to the aircraft folder then the airfile should of gone with it. I can't remember if you are using FS2k2 or FS9. I'm using FS9 and only had what you discribe happen to me once, and that was when I had the tail hood down.

My only other thought right now is have you downloaded FSUIPC and eather regeistered it or at least obtained the code for one of the gauges?

Hi Guys: carriers are very funny.
Flyboy, I recommend the Gumman F14B Tomcat by Dino Cattaneo and Jeff Dobbing (f14bfs9a.zip) from
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military16.htm
because with that it's not necesary to add other panel neither gauges. No problem to take off, and is possible to land with skill after some trials.
The carriers from "carr2004b" are nice and also the "waikato" but i couldnt refuel neither run the elevator at all, untill now.
I have to try some things and gauges that I read on these interesting posts.
This is for Allosaurus:
In the list of "carr2004b" is only one CVN-72 in "Gulf of Santa Catalina, Northwest of Miramar NAS, CA USA (N33:15 W117:45)" but in the MAP and the GPS is another ILS CVN-72 in front of San Diego (N32:32 W117:16) without any carrier. Do you know any about this?
Have fun to all.

going slightly off topic here:
has anyone had problems getting guages to show in Dino Cattaneo' F-14B?

Ok.. its come to crunch time ..

>:(

I have tried and tried and tried to intall this panel so i can launch off carriers so ant to no avail so i now ask you all a big big favour..

If you could either email me your complete panel config so i can delete mine and paste yours in its place as well as the complete aircraft config to do the same, i might be able to make some differnce and enjoy this panel and its features as everyone else does !!

The other option is just simply paste all the config settings on the reply post and i can work from there...

I think this is the only way that ican get it to work so please, help by doing this..
If you wish to email me then let me know on the reply post...

Thank you so so so so much to the person whos pastes their config files...

Hi Flyboyfitzy,
I have no problem with these panels, launchig and arresting with these gauges with the Tomcat the VIPER the Hornet or the Typhoon.
I have done also some minor modifications on the panels as my preferences.
I can send you by e-mail the files you need, if you are in confidence with them.
Please tell me exactly wat you want, if you prefer you can contact me by e-mail.
Good luck
