fs2004 and graphics card

Postby USAF/RETIREDtomtreviranussr » Thu Mar 25, 2004 11:56 am

I just installed a geforce fx 5200 Gcard on my computer. The device works just great on all of my flight sims except for my fs2004. The device won't show up on fs2004. What am I doing wrong friends? :-[ ???

I have the exact same card for my system and have no problems. My suggestions would be to make sure you uninstall any old drivers or any old grafic card you might have had. Then reinstall you might also try runing DXDIAG. just click on the start tab and enter dxdiag and press enter This will tell you if you have any problems with your card. do not be surprised if it tells you that the driver is not digitaly signed. This is not a problem. Go to the input tab and you should see FS2004 there if you do not or you find anthing there highlighted in yellow you got a problem. If I was at home I could tell you exactaly what you should see.

What are your system specs?  I installed this card a few months back and have had no problems with it.  In fact, I've gotten more than a few "holy craps" with my graphics quality.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

To all of the fine men out there that have attempted to help this old soldier. THANKS!! I located my problem in the 256 color area. It had been activated and fs2004 won't accept the 5200 card in that status. I,m sure this informs you people that I Don;t know much about computers. Thanks again my friends.

Tom : Is that the GeForce FX5200 ?  How much ram are you running and did you notice much of a difference with the new vid card ?  The guys have me pretty well talked out of getting one , so I'm really curious as to what I'm missing .   Regards from Canada........Terry ;)
