Re: F-14 Tomcat problem ?

You should have gotten the gauges in a seperate folder within the download. Looking at the panel.cfg, some of the gauges are default FS9 gauges, BUT, you should have two folders, one  titled Tomcat with several gauges inside and one folder TomcatVC with gauges inside of it. The first is for your normal acft. panel and the second is for the Virtual Cockpit. These two folders should be placed inside your FS9 Gauges folder intact. DO NOT take the gauges out of those folders and place them directly into the FS9 gauges folder.

You panel should display the gauges then.

IF you already dumped them into your FS9 Gauges folder, then just erase any line in the panel.cfg that says Tomcat/ and TomcatVC, leaving just the gauges name. Example, you would take the gauge:
gauge00=Tomcat/f14toggle!Panel.toggle (numbers) and remove the Tomcat/ thus leaving:
gauge00=f14toggle!Panel.toggle (numbers)

Do this for all the gauges that have the Tomcat/ or TomcatVC/ entry. This is ONLY if you have already dumped all the gauges that came with the download directly into the Main FS9 Gauges Folder.

Hope you get it worked out. Good luck.

Yep, common mistake pilots. If you are not sure when you download an acft., then check the panel.cfg and see how the gauges are listed. If listed with a folder extension first before the actual name of the gauge, then that whole folder must go into your FS's Main Gauge folder. If no folder extension first, then they can just be dumped straight into the Main Gauges folder.

I have been flying the F-14 for a while now plus two of
the new "carrier panels".  On one of them I get an
FSUIPC warning when I switch to the TCAS radar view.

After I hit OK on the warning the radar seems to work fine.
Before you ask I have the latest version of FSUIPC right
off of Peter's site.

Anyone else have this problem?

Are you getting the fsuipc warning when you start up FS9 and select the acft. you want to fly or some other time?

If it is what I am thinking, then you can eliminate that warning by going into your FS9.cfg file. Look for an entry, probably towards the bottom, like this:

[OldModules]

If there is not such an entry, add it just as above. Copy and paste if you like. Then add this line:

fsuipc.dll=1

When all is done it should look like this:

[OldModules]
fsuipc.dll=1

No more fsuipc warnings.

Good luck pilot.

Hi Fireman

Nope....only when I bring up the F-14 "backseat" cockpit view. I "think" it's the TCAS radar but the FSUIPC log doesn't seem to tel me much as to what gauge is causing the warning.
