FS2004 Humorous situation

Postby jimclarke » Wed Mar 17, 2004 4:39 pm

This seemed funny at the time so I thought I'd share it with you.

I was on short short final in my decathalon when I switched to tower view to watch my landing from a different perspective.  Somehow I managed to dig my right wing into the ground where it stayed firmly put as my aircraft careened off the runway and across the desert.  The tower comes on and calmly tells me to switch to ground control.  I tried to find a reply on the list that said "YYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAOOOOWWW" but it wasn't there!

I guess you had to be there!!

I too have had a few humorous happenings in FS9 today.

First one was when I was on final at KBOS, when the controller was telling me to report an MD-80 at my six. It was raining with zero visibility, and the learjet doesn't exactly come with rearview mirrors, so I go ahead and tell the controller that I don't have the traffic. So, I forget about it and go about beginning my landing, when suddenly I see a gigantic wing come zipping past my left window, mere inches from my crate. Scared the bejesus outta me!  :o

Second was on final at KJFK when a 737 cuts in front of me and starts slowing at a massive rate, so I went ahead and cut him off and vice versa... about 4 times... needless to say, we both ended up going around.  :D

LOL, you guys crack me up.

I was on landing in Durango CO.  Ground gave me go ahead for straight in, said I was number "2" behind Dehav-80.  I was only about 2 miles out when it said this.  I kept looking and continued landing and the Dehav never showed.  Once I landed and turned off the runway, ground told me to "go around".  Like Jim, I looked for the selection for "I'm on the ground idiot!".

Next, was given go ahead for straight in at KPHX for night landing.  When I was about 3 plane lengths from end of runway, something looked funny at the other end.  Once I touched down I just about rammed j=head on with a Dev-80 that had landed from the other direction.  I managed to veer past it, then ground comes on and said that I needed to expidite my exit from the runway.  "DUHH" you idiot.  I couldn't believe after flying for 2 hours the dumb ATC almost crashed me.  The funny part was me getting pissed and yelling at the compter like the ATC guy was real.  I guess you had to be hear as my whole family stared at me... LOL, in the end, I was the idiot (remember Mickey, it's just a game, just a game).

I know its just a computer program but when they tell me to go around, I go around like I'm afraid to get in trouble with the FAA or something :o!

If you ever really get bored hop in the lear and chase ATI traffic and try to hit them. It not as easy as sounds.
But looks really great from the spot view when you finnaly manage to hit one. and watch to see which aircraft hits the ground first .

I'd just downloaded the SR-71 Blackbird and was trying it out. I didn't pay attention to ATC. I just taxied out to the runway and threw on the coal. ATC kept yelling that I didn't have permission to take off. My reply was, "Oh yeah. Find someone who can catch me and give me a ticket". Just as I hit Mach 3.  ;D ;D

garymbuska - Your planes fall when you colide?  When I crash with anything, the game stops and then it reloads from when I first started the flight.  Kind of boring and lack luster.  I want to see wings falling off, flames and the thing plumeting to the ground.

I get great big explosions and parts of my plane falling off.  I use the latest Nick's MASSIVE CRASH in my sim. ;D

It is pretty good and looks spectacular when you come in for a landing and everything on the aircraft fails so you end up hurtling like a brick into the runway in a fireball.  As you may have guessed i like putting failures etc into some of my flights.
