water texture settings problem

Postby Alamo » Fri Mar 12, 2004 11:31 pm

Anybody else had this problem? I set the water texture settings to max so that I can use the various replacement water textures, but when I go into the flight, it has reverted to the medium setting, so the new textures don't work. Any ideas?

I had that same problem.
The ONLY WAY I know of how to solve it is to get a better graphics card.
I upgraded to a ATI 128MB card. and it SMOKES !  :o

I'm hoping that my GeForce-4 440 would be good enough for that - it's great in every other game I run.
Is it really going to be about needing a better card, or is there a work-around?

The 440 will run it good, but you won't be able to max out the sliders.  You can't even with a FX5200.  You need a DX9 card that is good enough for it to allow you to do it.  the FX5700 or Radeon 9600 is the lowest card you need to get the sliders to max and stay maxed.
