No Concorde

Postby Dave_A » Fri Dec 12, 2003 10:53 am

Hi All

A minor grumble from a humble Brit (English actually and we are Rugby world champs).

If Fs2004 is celebrating a century of flight how come no Concorde????  Surely a milestone in world history not just aviation.

Perhaps it is seen differently across the pond :P

Try the Project Mach 2 Concorde model, its AWESOME!
Its available at a number of sites on the web, and the updates for more realistic flight dynamics and cockpit are available here under the FS2k2 downloads ;)

And where did Wales come in the last 6 nations? You should not base a challenge on one fair performance. ;D

2 I'll have you know. The All Blacks were rattled and Engand were "technically" Beaten by wales. Yawn oh well we'll see come march  ;)

concorde was not included for a few reasons, microsoft explained those reasons.
they were along these lines:
Concorde has a very complex flight model, and to the average flyer of flight sim, far to complex to make it a worth while addition.
The designers have to take rides on all the aircraft or at very least get all the info they can, they couldnt get all the information required for concorde, so couldnt make it a complete model.
there were a few other reasons and if you search the in game news menu they are in there, i believe it was in a subject titled, how We select flight sim aircraft.

If this was the argument then why is the wright flyer in FS then? They could have at least had Concorde AI....

But I understand the other reasons that you explained last time this arguement came up  ::)

microsoft admited their concorde model from 2000, wasnt at all that good, and to keep it realistic would have required a major overhaul of its entire config.
i will try and find the link so you can all read it for yourself
