How does ATC call regional partners?

Postby svenpurple7 » Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:49 pm

Hi all.
I am in the process of "tweaking" all of my AI and AFCADS to the specs set by PAI and make them more realistic.  My question is:  what callsign/airline name does ATC use to call regional partners of a specific airline in real life?
For example, if a particular flight is airline ABC operated by XYZ, does ATC call that aircraft by ABC or XYZ in real life?
I hope that made sense.  Thanks in advace,
Ben.

Yes they do. If your airline is say Northwest, and you are flying a Messaba connection flight, your flight should be refered to as Messaba XX. That said there is a problem with this in FS9.

Some of the major airlines are included wwith the sim but many others, including regionals, are not. To fix that problem you will have to add them to your sim. I believe there are voicepacks here that will do that for you but I am not too sure. I do know that there are plenty of others here who do know and will be more than happy to help you out.

Whatever is indicated here:

atc_airline=Pasco
atc_airline=SPEED BIRD

The spelling must be correct

Thanks for the help guys.
I have spent some time accumulting callsigns and now have a rather extensive voice pack and airlines.cfg file thanks to EditVoicePack.   ;D
I can work around and fix my ATC glitches rather well (and there are many).  I just wanted to know how it was done in real life just so I could get my AI just a bit more realistic.  I think that question was answered.

Now back to the never ending stuggle and addiction known as AI traffic.  ;)

Thanks again.  ;)

Cool. EditVoicePack rules. Don't leave home without it. Any Airport Names you have with my name on them 'wji' were submitted by me  :D
