Adding Aircraft Traffic, airport gates, etc, to your Sim - AFCAD, TTools, Project AI, AI Aircraft, etc

I've got the Thomas Kwong Hong Kong Int scenery (VHHH) but try as I might, I can't get any AFCAD file to work with it!
I have half the AI in there that there should be (leading me to think the default file is still active) and they are either in the wrong place or parked IN buildings, jetways, etc!
The files I have downloaded all just say to place the AFCAD in the Addon scenery/scenery folder but this isn't working. They can't all be duff so must be something i'm doing. Please help!!

When VHHH is opened in AF2 the active file will be at the top of the stack. By checking its properties (or visually identifying it) one an see if it's the correct file.
Running ScanAFD will check for duplicate AF2 files.
The scenery hierachy for FS9 is:
1.) Addon Scenery/Named/scenery
2.) Addon Scenery/scenery
3.) FS9/Scenery/World/scenery (where the numbered FS9 default AF2 files reside)
