Hi everyone
can anyone help recently downloaded ttools and got myself the ai file for brize norton + scenery marvellous. Ive collected my airports first and then ive changed the vc10 aircraft cfg as it instructs. Ive then altered the flight plan text as it instructs and aircraft text as it instructs BUT i dont get any traffic derr . can anyone tell me what im doing wrong as this is the first time ive used ttools .also when i compile flightplans and aircraft ttools coms up with NO AIRPORT OF THAT NAME EGVN er dont understand as it is in my airports i think Brize norton. I do have the right vc10 as well in my aircraft .

Run collectairports.exe, it came in the same .zip as TTools. (If it didn't then get a newer version of ttools).

This is your problem, you need the airport code for Brize Norton in your airport txt file.

add this and then recompile
EGVN,N51* 44.99',W1* 34.97',288

Cheers grahamwil & planespotter ive put in to the airport text file brize norton code and compiled ttools again. BUT still get no traffic. When i started this i had to put in  the aircraft text file a extra line for my vc 10 as such AC#179,490,"VC10 C1K RAF 2004" IM wondering if this aircraft is not being spotted somehow with ttools so it isnt coming up in the traffic although i have changed my vc10 aircraft cfg. errr does that all make sence sorry if it sound a bit complicated

FB, check to see if your plane is even showing up in the drop down menu?

I use copies of all my flyable AC and then rename the UI manufactorer=military AI.

This way I know it's the right version if it shows in the drop down menu.

If it's there then we know it's not the airplane but either the afcad or the flight plans.

Is your radius parking big enough to have this show up?

OK guys ive gone a bit silly and downloaded an afcad for leuchars which is marvelous although the dsb tornados f3s r eating my frame rate somat cronik any ideas also when i try to change the parking spaces for a different jet nothing happens i still get the tornado even though ive changed the cfg on the aircraft i want and the aircraft file in ttools errr going crazy again . Ive just got Ultimate traffic for christmas carnt hav it yet but maybe this is a good idea ha

Are you using the flyable plane from DSB for the Tornado?

If you copy the whole file and rename it AI_Tornado, then remove the panel folder completely.
Then go into the texture folder and remove any internal bmps. The VC ones are the first to go, these don't need to show for AI and just eat frame rates.

You might need DXTbmp to look at some of these files.

Yes planespotter i am using the flyable dsb tornados. ive copied the dsb file and named it AI TORNADO ive removed the panel and got rid if the bmp files in textures all 3 files do i have to change the cfg aircraft file to title ai tornados or do i leave that bit. what is Dxtbmp file do.

DXTBmp is a program that changes the format for people to paint for the most part.

Some people save their textures with MiPS and some w/out. One adds detail while the other takes away but also saves on Frame rates.

depending on what format the files are saved in you will need that program to open and view the bmps. Kirk Olssons F-16 is like this.

I always add AI to the end of my cfg title lines and then change the UI Manufactorer: to AI Military.

this way you won't loaded the flyable version and can scroll down in the drop down menu under AI military to make sure your AI loads correctly

If you change your Airfile so it won't load than it won't show in the drop down menu

Nice 1 planespotter thanks for the link . have daft question any idea how i can change my tornados for other aircraft  without going to crazy meaning is it changing lots of files or what sorry had some beer

all you need to do is copy the title line off the aircraft.cfg.

Go into your aircraft.txt and paste that over the Tornado line. Very simple  ;)

Nice one plane spotter found the DSB typhoon a lot more frame rate friendly now i know how to change the aircraft. Do you know why my airbase lights are on in the daytime. the planes even put there lights on too. Is it possible to have more than one aircraft taking of together.
