Making a Static Aircraft for Scenery

Postby pavespawn » Tue Sep 07, 2004 9:36 pm

I am trying to make a static MH-53 to place at KHRT for FS2004.  I have the MH-53 helicopter model but I can't seem to convert it.  I have the MDLtoBGL program but I cannot make it work correctly.  I would like to place them on my flightline as scenery.

What program did you use to make the plane with?
There is a different approach with each program.
From what I have seen there is no one way that works for all programs(example if you are using GMAX you need the SDK for 2004 in order to use this as scenery for 2004.) I am not aware what you need for the others programs out there. If you are using some other program look in your help file it should tell you what you need to do this. 8)

As far as I'm aware you can't make static helis using the 'normal' methods ie get an old model (FS5/FS98 ) and make an API using M98toBgl.

However, I've discovered my own method

Thanks guys.  The MH-53 is the CH-53/Pavelow model that I downloaded, made by Rory Kelly.  I'll admit that I modified the panel and the title to closer fit the real aircraft (I am a MH-53 Pave Low Flight Engineer in real life).   Looks like he made it with GMAX.

what I do is make weekly flight. Have the helo/plane take off and then land again.

If you files are frame rate friendly then you should be able to get a nice tarmac loaded up.

Be sure to remove your panels folder and any internal bmp's from the texture folder.
If there is an airshow with in 2 states of me I'm there

Well, I tried loading it up as a flight plan but it never even shows up.  Has anyone else tried loading the Pave Low?  My next step will be to add all the hangers and windsocks, etc, as well as putting in a higher tower since we just recently got a bigger one.

This is a lovely model and it makes a great looking AI

Just need to check out my files a bit more and you can have copies if you want. Did an IFR flight plan and the ILS was hopeless but the files work fine VFR with other AI helis so I need to check they are OK with this one.

That is the Pave Low that I have.  I just can't seem to get it to show up.  I got some CH-53Es to show up, but they fly the pattern between 40 to 80 knots and they crash when they get about 20 feet.  I would love to know how you got yours to fly.  I would also like to get a CH-47.  That would be great.
