Do I have to make a flight plan?

Do I have to make a flight plan for all my aircraft...or will they fly somewhere alone???

Ok do you have traffic tools yet?

how about afcad?

get these programs and read the lengthy instructions that come with traffic tools and it will give you a pretty good background knowledge of how to add traffic to your sim.

and to answer your question, yes, to add traffic to the sim, you will need to create a flight plan...
