Yes, thank you.    I am looking for one with a more realistic panel .bmp and, preferably, British instrumentation.

Those are BMPs made from photos of real panels and built up as the real aircraft .

They are as close as possible to the real aircraft.

They are the only ones around.

Try cbfsim.org if you have any questions about the panels

The Varsity panel is there to download with the Varsity althiugh I think it's still a seperate download

My version was never aliased to the DC 3.

Perhaps yours was an early download Hagar...

Thamks to all.    Yes, I have the aditional panel download.     The shape may well be there, but it still doesn't look like the panel of any Varsity/Valetta I ever flew.          And the aircraft I flew had British instruments.       Guess I'll just have to get down to some designing!

Apologies to all.      I should have read Hagar's mail more carefully before I burst into print.       I did have an 'additional' Varsity panel download but it wasn't Rick Booker's.     Have now downloaded and installed same and, by God, it looks like a Varsity.      Now to "slip the surly bonds".        How do I arrange for Hagar to answer all my mails?

Glad I could help. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

How do I arrange for Hagar to answer all my mails?

I try to answer everything I can. I don't pretend to know all the answers.

PS. Garry. I downloaded both files from Rick Piper's site only yesterday. See link in my previous reply.

I just downloaded it as well and the config panel entry says panel= it is not pointed to the DC 3 but will pick up any panel dropped in the folder......in my case the proper panel so as I said I never had a DC3 panel

Anyhow as I said in my post above the proper panel is on the site which was the one you put the link up for which was the site I was talking about, but he must have already been there or Classic British Files to have had the model........presumably....... This is what puzzelled me as if the model is being downloaded from Ricks site or CBF the

I don't wish to make a big issue out of this Garry. I downloaded VarsityT1v1.0.zip from the above link & this is copied direct from the Panel.cfg file in the Panel folder.

[fltsim]
alias=Douglas_DC3\panel

This means that it's aliased to use the default DC-3 panel as I stated.

PS. The entry you quoted is from Aircraft.cfg.

Sorry Hagar.I see what you mean now

Not trying to either I'm just trying to see what threw RAFAIR100 off the correct panel.

I guess because I downloaded the panel and put it into the main folder it replaced the default panel folder there.  Just as a member of the support team I wondered why the panel was not seen in the first place and wondering if the model was downloaded from another site which is hosting it and does not have the panel.

The main thing is RAFAIR100 is sorted now.

Yes, thanks to all, all sorted now.       Now, if I could only find a decent Prentice/Provost panel................
