Now I know you can use boats but anyone seen a freeware aircraft carrier?

There are several. Do a google search for FSX carriers.
Actually FSX acceleration includes a couple of moving CVN models.

Once you find some AI CVN's you might want to have a look for
"aicarriers2" and "AI BOat Utility".
