There are two things you should check before you get completely frustrated from hunting for new water add-ons. (believe me, I know from experience!) First, make certain your video card is capable of displaying the water reflections correctly. FS9 uses DirectX 9 to render it's eyecandy, if you card isn't DX9 compliant, you won't see any reflections no matter what you do. Second, make sure you are able to turn your water effects up to high in the FS9 display settings. If you can't, then the sim has picked up that you don't have the hardware for it and there may not be no point in looking fo better water.

Now you said your water looks bad.....how bad? Could you post a screenshot?

I am using Ultimate Terrain and it does have some water improvements in it. But it is pay ware and only good in the Continental US. But if you search AVSIM you can find several water replacements there. Just remember to back up before you do anything. 8-)

:D  Give waterzone and/or morewatr (not a spelling error) a try.  I combined the two and got a really good effect but I can't remember which section from each.  They are both free.

If it stays in the middle, it means your graphics card is not DX9 compatible...You can try all the different water packages but I can assure you none of them will work...  :-/ :-/

The only way to see reflections in the water would be to upgrade to DX9 compliant video card. :(
