I generally find that after you have installed a number of different aircraft in your hangar, it is possible to copy a preferred sound file into an aircraft of your choice after removing the existing sound file.
I often swop around radial engine sound files from one aircraft to another, to obtain the best, (most realistic), sound effects... 8)...!

You might check the 'Sounds' section here at Simv!  ;)

One thing I like about having a lot of payware aircraft is most of them come with excellent sound files, so if i download a freeware aircraft tjhat has a basic soundfile, I just mirror it to use the payware one that fits best.

Do a search for Aaron R. Swindle (Skysong Soundworks) or Mike Hambly. Both specialists in authentic sound files for most types of aircraft. These are posted here at SimV & other reputable FS sites.

I generally find that after you have installed a number of different aircraft in your hangar, it is possible to copy a preferred sound file into an aircraft of your choice after removing the existing sound file.

Rather than duplicate all those sound files it's usually easier & more convenient to alias Sound.cfg to use the sound of another aircraft. Not so important nowadays with the large capacity HDDs fitted to most PCs.

Like Doug says, it's usually more convenient to have your sounds aliased to another plane.  For instance, I have all of my Merlin Spitfires aliased to one package, my Griffon Spitfires to one package, my Merlin Mustangs to one, my Allison engines aliased to one, etc...
