Qantas Australia 747-200 (Retro) Livery (FSX)

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Qantas Australia 747-200 (Retro) Livery (FSX)

Hello.

I've been searching for a long time but have not been able to find anywhere a Qantas Boeing 747-200 in the classic retro livery with polished metal underside, yellow-brown cheatline and Winged kangaroo on the tail.

The above link is an example of what I'm looking for. All I've been able to find is Posky's 747-200 in Qantas modern colours.

Do you have the CLS 747-200? There is one for FSX i think although i only have the fs2004 version. Search Avsim for "cls_b742_qantas_vh-ecb.zip" and i think youll find thats what your after ;)

If not then i dont really know.I would certainly have a go at repainting the  fs2004 CLS 747-200 in these colours, looks a nice paint to attempt :)

I think I have the CLS classic 747s somewhere, I know I bought it but can't remember where I put it.

That is the livery I was looking for and with it I might be able to replicate VH-EBA 'City of Canberra' which was Qantas' first 747 and unlike most of the others ordered was powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7As instead of the Rolls Royce engines seen in that repaint which powered later deliveries (and all QF 747s since).

Yes thats easy to do with the CLS 747, just swap out the RR engines for the PW engines that are either in the paintkit or from another PW powered 747 and alter the cfg accordingly.

Alright, thanks. I've swapped her over to P&W engines. Now to customise the paints to represent the first QF 747 and then it's time for some period-style screens.

The best 747-200 freeware is the Ready for Pushback 747-200 - it has a full passenger cabin & you can go through 1st class - down stairs - throught the whole aircraft. There are many liveries available but not sure about the date of the Qantas version
