Any DeHavilland land based w/decent VC

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Any DeHavilland land based w/decent VC

Postby Mistro » Tue Aug 17, 2010 11:42 pm

I see many models but I have yet to find one with a good looking VC. Anyone know a good one for FSX?

Or any prop that can shuttle a small crowd of business men. The interior must be nice or else they will not get in. Including the captain.

Have you tried the Moths or Rapides we have here? I don't know if Rick Pipers Chippie works in FSX but if it does it is a blinder ;)

Milton Shupe's aircraft have great interiors too. Check out his Spartan Executives and Howards 500. An FSX native version is available at http://www.fsnorthwest.net/ - you must register to see the download section.

Thank you guys. The only problem I have with most FS2004 models is the propeller behind clouds and autogen issue. I downloaded that Spartan and will give it a try tomorrow. One thing to keep in mind, I'm looking for a mid sized plane that can fit more than 4 passengers but not as big as a 737. I downloaded a DHC8-Q202. Nice plane but have that propeller issue.

De Havilland Rapide for FSX ;)

Thanks Ozzy! Igot into the VC and was very impressed talking to myself and smiling, then I looked back. At first it was an awkward moment as the passengers were not looking amused. I'm now flying them to WA69 for some wine and cheese to lighten them up.

Nay worries, quite a few top flight FS9 ones either work in FSX or have been upgraded for it ;)

If you've got some space on your hard drive and some patience or fast internet, one prop I find nice (although it's not DeHavilland) is the Super King Air 300 (Found Here: http://www.simviation.com/simviation/index.php?type=item&ID=61&page=40) Only warning, it's 160 MB zipped and if I recall, between 600-700 MB when unzipped. On the upside, it has a fully modeled interior in the VC.

Now if only I remembered the controls to move around inside the VC...

Ozzy you have opened me up to planes I wouldn't normally fly. I'm enjoying the suggestions (that's why it took me so long to post). I really enjoy the comet, it's a lot of fun to fly. The Tiger Moths are fun too. These are some great VFR planes. I just need more practice with some tail draggers when taxiing and takeoff. Can't see where I'm goin on those small strips but I just push the throttle and pray

Thanks simpilot! I didn't see your post till last night. I downloaded the dhc-5.....cool plane. Think the textures in the VC can be a little better though. But hey, it's free and it's a keeper in my hagar.
