Looking for WW II US aircraft for FS 2004

Postby crewdog » Sat Aug 01, 2009 1:07 pm

Hi all,

Doing some volunteers work on a project for an educational group, we're looking to put some WW 2 US aircraft into FS 2004. We'd like the aircraft to be of good quality with cockpits, don't mind payware if it's well done. I've waded through the files on the site but it's hard to know what would be a good model until it's loaded, and that's getting old fast.

We've got a couple classic airplanes (P-51, B-29) but we're looking for some other aircraft such as PT-19, P-39, P-40, P-38, and B-17.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time,

Steve

Not sure I can be much help but the F-89 Scorpion seems an odd choice. The prototype didn't fly until August 1948. The only US jet to enter service during WWII was the YP-80A Shooting Star. It saw no combat in WWII. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-80_Shooting_Star

Yup, that one slipped in, different project. Disregard the F-89.

The "Aircraft Powerpack" from shockwave offers a bunch of 'em in a package, and they are very well done. I got mine at Best Buy for cheap-- about 20 bucks, I think. Let me list the birds: Focke-Wulf TA 152 H-1; B-17G; Horton HO IX Flyin' Wing; B-29A; Avro Lancaster B Mk. III; F-W TA-183 Huckbein; Messysmith ME 410 B-2/U2/R4 Zerstorer; P-51D; B-24J; PB4Y-2 Privateer; Arado AR 234 B "Lightning"; Heinkel HE-162A "Salamander" and a few more. I have included a picture if you go looking for it...
