New design time? "Condor 216" from "Left Behind"

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

New design time? "Condor 216" from "Left Behind"

Postby Chairborne » Mon Oct 13, 2008 11:21 pm

In the "Left Behind" book series, antichrist Nicolae Carpathia often flies the world over in a plane called "Condor 216", a twin-engined canard jet which is invisible from underneath and behaves much like a 757, and is approximately the size of a 757. The Condor is eventually succeeded by the "Phoenix 216". No drawings or illustrations exist on either plane. Does anyone here think that this plane would be intriguing enough to inspire a contest to see who can design one? The only FS skills I have are scenery and airport development. Any thoughts?

Being this is an inspiration from a religious matter, I'd please like anyone who feels 'inspired' to critique this project on that basis to refrain from replying. Thank you in advance.

I could make one that was completely invisible

Inside and out ::)

Actually, that's not a bad start, but the book describes both the Condor 216 and the Phoenix 216 as only being rendered invisible when viewed from below. At least we know you can do it! Any further takers?

EDIT: I've just e-mailed the authors of the "Left Behind" series asking if they'd like to contribute input to the project which would give the plane some form, as well as some other statistics on it. Hopefully they'll reply to the positive and perhaps send us a rough sketch of what they may have invisioned this plane to look like as they wrote.

No....a humourous quip... invisible inside and out.....that would be no model at all

I would never waste my time with fiction

to much to do with reality and i doubt if what you ask for is possible anyway

Making a truly "invisible" aircraft, even from just the bottom, is most likely impossible right now.  There are a few cheats that one could use (such as the 'cloak field' on William "Lionheart" Ortis's F-136 Orbital Interceptor) to render an aircraft invisible, or near to it.

Probably an unfeasible idea at the moment, since most designers are interested in their own projects, and some have lists longer than their arms.  If I were you, I'd pick up either Gmax or FSDS and start learning.

Nah, I'm not going to ask anymore about the project. There'll always be new repaints of default 172s, so there's really no 'market' for this kind of original project. I'll simply continue scenery and airport development and stay at Avsim. Later...

I think that this would be a cool AC to add to a hanger...and with the technogy with FS9 and FSX, i also think that the AC would look good even though it would not be invisable from the bottom...ok there's my 2 cents lol 8-) ;)
