High quality 737-800 or 737-900.

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

High quality 737-800 or 737-900.

I have quite a few 737-800's but I'm looking for some really high quality -800's and/or -900's with a high quality VC. I've tried downloading the 737 experience but I can't get it to work, ther eare a few more I have that are really nice. Any really nice payware -800's and -900's?

Cheers

PMDG makes a very good 737. If you want the download version you will have to buy the 600 and 700 before the 800 and 900. I think the boxed version of the 800 900 is standalone.

I know it's not payware, but if you want an exteremely detailed model of the plane (no VC) project open sky is the best I can find. http://www.projectopensky.com/downloads-index.php
Hope it helps ;D

Overland.  Not SUPER high quality but good stuff nonetheless and EXCELLENT performers.  Literally no framerate impact, even from teh VC!  Also the Boeing pack comes with great 777s, 767s, and 747s.

What's the problem with the 737 Experience? It's been out a couple of years and is still one of the best around. Let us know why it won't work for you and we'll help. That plane was born here, so there are a few of us baby-sitters around! (Where IS Moach these days??)

Agree about the Posky -800 and -900s (apart from the FDs  :P) - they'll get a VC sooner or later. Some -700s have already got one, transplanted from  - you guessed it - the 737 Experience!!

I'm not really sure how I would explain it, but, in simple terms, I've dsone exactly what the read-me says, I go to test it out, and it's just not there.

On the experence, if you try ti use it in FSX, the gauges are useless, therefore no VC.  Other than that it works great in FSX. ;)

If the plane isn't appearing in the selection menu, then the most likely culprit is the entry in the 'sim=' line in the [fltsim.x] section of the aircraft.cfg file - this has to match EXACTLY with the .air file name, minus the filetype. So if the .air file is for example Boeing737.air, then the line would read 'sim=Boeing737'.

Yep, that was it. Thanks Microlight. So are there no payware 737's? Every where I've looked they're all freeware.

There's the PMDG NG series, which are excellent. Other than that, the freeware boys have cornered the market. But with the 737 Experience and the Poskys, who needs payware?!
