What are some other good single props to download?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Postby coolpick » Sun Jan 07, 2007 9:28 pm

Hello, I am working on becoming a pilot, I have about 40 hours logged in, and I was just lloking for some planes to download that are single props, and are fairly ez to fly. This is for FS9(sorry). I am thinking about loading these...

Lancair Legacy 2000(been in a FG legacy before really nice plane for a kit)
RV-4
Christen Eagle
Diamond DA20
Long Ez

The FSX/FS2004 Grumman AA-5 of Tim Conrad is great!

It's very easy to fly and really makes fun to do it! (But fly in VC-mode, it's just great!).

Personally I love Rick Pipers De Havilland Chipmunk (of course I learnt to fly on one so I'm biased) ;)

He hasn't uploaded the most recent version for FSX to SimV though... :-[ This may have been because of bandwidth issues, so maybe it would be worth contacting Rick from his home forum to see if we could get it uploaded here.

(PS that isn't a cue for someone else to do it instead.)

Where does it say that? It'd still be a bonus for SimV to have the Chippie V3 in the downloads sections. :)

There's a nice freeware Tomahawk out (same page as the AA-5):

And Lynn and Bill Lyons have created some of the finest freeware models of vintage classics...

Stinson Reliant and Tiger Moth:

Their Piper Tri-Pacer is AMAZING!!! so much fun!!!

And here's an updated version of their Globe Swift: not a beginner's airplane, but an excellent intro to high-performance singles, and a BLAST to fly; excellent model:

Well, the Lancair Legacy and the Christen eagle I have already and are two very good planes. Both of them very fast, but behave so differently one from the other in landing that are hardly comparable. The Legacy wants to be landed fast and furious, not a STOL that plane. The Christen you can land on a dime. With the right training and some headwind it suffices the width of a runway (I was able to make it land successfully on a helipad once, and with only something like a 8 knots headwind)

Suggested, if you take the Christen Eagle, is to download and install the 300hp modification, for near vertical angle of attacks and carrier-like takeoffs. Great plane for aerobatics. :)

There's but one real cure for human stupidity. It's called DEATH.
