Bf109, Hs129 wanted

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Bf109, Hs129 wanted

Postby gryshnak » Thu Jun 15, 2006 1:54 am

I'm looking for a decent quality Bf109, freeware or payware.  I've got the AH freebie and it's okay, but not in the same class as the JF Spitfire.

Ditto with a Hs129, there's a freeware CFS2 conversion but it lacks detail and flies horribly.

Any suggestions?

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Sorry, my fault, I should have been more specific.  I'm looking for a Bf109E.

Like this one?  Come on, now grysh.  You've been here long enough: I would have figured you'd know to go search SimV first! ;)  Just typed in "bf109e" and it spat out that . . .

I'm assuming the Hs129 you mentioned was the one found on this page, correct?  I tried searching for another one on most of the usual (and several not-so-usual) sites, but to no avail.  Although I seem to recall one being made awhile back, it seems that I was mistaken.

There's always the SkyUnlimited 109, I wouldn't recommend it however, cause it is horrible, but if you're desperate enough, I guess it could go..

AND it's an 'F' model..

Have a look anyway.

Thanks Ecko, but that alone is enough to stop me.  The 109E3 or E4 was quite attractive, the F series leaves me cold for some reason.

Found that other Hs129 on an old backup CD  8)  It was made by Alphasim for FS2002.

Curious that the only two 129's I can find for FS9, are both the B3 version with the big 75mm gun under the nose!

Probably 'cos the originals are CFS2 models and why not have a 75mm cannon for ground attacks? Better than a pea-shooter ;D

I just found Wings of Power II, which includes a very fine looking Bf109E4.  Can't get it this month 'cos I've just blown my budget on a 650W PSU and a DVD burner, but it's on my shopping list for later.

So many planes, so little time (and money)  ;D

We've got WOP 2 in stock at Skysim Ltd and if you are going to Waddington you will be able to pick it up with a bit of discount. :D

Edit:
I also have it on authority that the Spitfire in WOP 2 is as good if not better than the JustFlight one.

The JF Spitfire package was a great disappointment! I've heard the new WoP one is very nice...

What didn't you like about the JF Spitfire?  As my first (and only!) piece of payware I don't have anything to compare it to.

I'll be going to Waddington but I'm not sure which day, I won't know that until the Thursday or Friday before.  I'll PM you closer to the day.

The WoP Spitfire is an early model which complements the Bf109E, in the same way as the DH2 and Eindekker did 24 years earlier.  That's important to me.
