Problems with backflips...
1: FS cant simulate disturbed intake flow.
2: Alpha-related stall kicks in far too early... it's a civvie sim after all
3: Both LOMAC and IRIS use a separate FDE just for that purpose. LOMAC can change from normal to advanced mode inflight, while IRIS has to cope with MSFS limitations and needs a separate FDE that is tuned for it, and probably highly unstable in normal flight.

So the verdict: it IS possible but with major problems in all other flight modes, so most developers decide not to include this capability.

And a small 'did-you-know'
LOMAC uses a different flightmodel compared to it's predecessor Flanker... only when doing extreme manoevers it changes to unassisted mode (where it uses the Flanker sim dynamics). All the Flanker series sims were capable of doing the Cobra whitout having to change to a different flight model.
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur
