Expect an update over the weekend...I've got a few days off and need some stress relief.

It's amazing how spending 48 hours almost non stop on a project and pulling one's hair out is very relaxing.

Seating arrangements are being made for Aceronzo. :)

You have to zoom out to 0.031 to see the whole cockpit...that thing is just too tight to see it all otherwise. :)

No cup holder...but VC is just about completly finished now.

Major work left is some texturing (gear and gear wells), flight dynamics(?) and effects.

Shouldn't be too long a wait.

Nice to see aceronzo talking about me behind my back LOL (yes, I am his website partner muhahahahaaa).  Viper looks excellent.  If he has been beta testing it, he hasn't shared it with me, and besides, he doesn't have time to, hes gotta finish the lower J2 deck then finish refitting the exterior fusion core.

Seriously though, sci-fi for FS 9 is a great venue hardly touched upon with the great 3d makers of today. I love the old BSG stuff, but the new series fasinates me more than the original.  the vipers are good too.  Can't wait to fly it.

Ronnie, get back to work ;P

I decided that cockpit looked too flat...so:

A complete redesign of the VC.  :o

Image

For some reason that circuit breakers want to migrate into the panels. :( They won't win, but it is annoying!

The VC is also getting all new textures for itself (not in this pic, still working on them) and a bunch of actual 3D panels.

Working instrumets partially installed (I forgot how to do VC instruments and did some headbashing), animated stick and rudder pedals (for some reason there is now room...I couldn't find any earlier!). Fitted the rudder pedals and the new BSG episode has Adama telling Starbuck that you have to use your right leg to hold down the  Viper thruster pedal!

Arghhhh!!!! I was gonna do that and shifted away from it! I'm gonna fit the thruster control to the right pedal...reverse thrust will go on the left. Rudder control on the pedal tilt...like toe brakes. More eye-candy anyway.

Not legible in this shot...but the engraving on the rudder pedals reads "Caprica Design Works". :D

Solved the migrating circuit breaker problem...it wasn't the breakers at all! I had a severely twisted poly that was turned around on it's self! Deleted and rebuilt that section of the cockpit tub and all is well.

Decided after looking at the animation that throttle and spoiler control goes on the pedal tilt...just to hard to see how it all worked otherwise.

Very productive weekend...things are looking up. :)

Does anyone here have a screen shot of the sheild (either side of the nose) on the new MKIIA?

I'm going to need that soon after I finish what I'm working on. :)

The new MKII is cool looking...the MKVII is butt ugly and looks like a silver suppository (pun intended).

I intend to finish the current Viper and add the "Scarlet Viper" that was planned for Richard Hatch's BSG revival, after that I'm going to see if I can gather enough info for the MKII from the new series (drawings of the exterior shown above).

The MKVII will not be in my plans, ever. Real Vipers don't look like they should be shipped in plain brown wrappers. :)

You should give the new series a shot Ron...it's different but it is worth a look.
