Halifax?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

Halifax?

I have (honestly) looked for a FS2004 Halifax but have had no luck.  Anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks Andy.  Also looks like I'm after a Stirling as the CFS one does not want to play ball.  >:(

Why on Earth can't I be happy with what I've got!!!  ;)

Hi Red Coat: :)

Can't help you to find what you are looking for on the computer but I can tell you we are rebuilding a Halifax Bomber at the Royal Canadian Air Force Memorial Museum at RCAF Station Trenton or as the politicians call it Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

Best dam bomber ever built...bar none ;)

The RCAF MEMORIAL MUSEUM has its own website so you can search it there.  Another RCAF Halifax has been found and will soon be brought to restoration.

As for the Stirling Bomber named after the small village here in Stirling Ontario (about 1000 people including dogs and cats) and only about a half hours drive from me South all I can say is I am waiting for more information from my friends on the island of England. ;)

Oh by the way Red Coat do not get discouraged, it takes time.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Thanks a lot.  I have been watching your project with interest from over here in the UK.  Can't believe we're going from no Halibags to three!

I'm working on a B.III MK II, I've just got the VC, panel, and sounds left to do. If there's a specific colour scheme you want, please post a picture, and I'll do that for you.

Thanks for all the offers and advice.

Although any would please me no end, the bird I'd really love is Halifax III  DT-C (PN436) of 192 Special Operations, Bomber Support squadron.

A photo of her crew, nose and nose art are on the web:

http://www.worldwar2exraf.co.uk/LARGE%20PHOTO%20GALLERY%20PAGES/acpost148b.htm

(Back one photo gives you the crew details.)

I don't know if the lightning flash was a feature of 192 tails at that time, but think not.  If this bird could be made to grace the skies of virtual Norfolk again it would be great!

Wasn't there an article in Aeroplane in June I think about the Halifax restoration? Sounded interesting.......

Thanks Charlie.  I just found the Stirling.  Lovely model.  I spent quite some time just watching the landing gear work.  Seemed to fly quite a bit better than I expected as well.

With the Lancs and Stirling sorted and what looks like a fantastic Halibag on the way from GWS I think that I'm quite likely to become a total recluse!

...Just need to find a crashed Stirling airframe now and carry off the same dream in reality!!!

Just get the plans, buy as many parts as you can and scratch build the airframe, that is what I'm doing. True my kite is considerably smaller.....

Sadly, it seems all the plans were destroyed. I could probably find a 3-view though. (Us developers know where to find them for most aircraft.)
