Best Spitfire for FS2004

Postby Springer6 » Sat Sep 11, 2004 4:04 pm

Someone in this forum recommended bf109-8 zip as the best Me 109 package for FS9.

THEY WERE NOT WRONG !!--Thanks for the recommendation.

Does anyone know of an equally good Spitfire/package?

Well Helen as the Spit guru around here there are a number of freeware options....
So we have some in vintage downloads here at SimV.
There are a number of CFS2 models compatible with FS9, try Paul Rebuffats many models at http://myzone59.ath.cx/accueil.php3 (telecharger is French for download) and also the YAS models at Avsim.
Also there are some FAB Seafires available at Aeroplane Heaven (personal favourites).
And shortly an amazing looking payware package is coming out (sometime in Oct. apparently), for more info visit http://www.justflight.com/en/(pfjlpyu2fgxcdm55niq3t5ba)/index.aspx

For freeware I would go with the Seafires (As Ozzy says) They are just superb.

Thanks all ... Aeroplane Heaven Seafires are great just what I've been looking for.

Just need a decent European texture and the superb Merlin sound file I have somewhere

I have some problems here. I downloaded the MK IV from Paul Rebuffats web site. Them I added the merlin sounds from SIMV's sound downloads. Sound is great. The prob I have is when looking at my spit in FS9, I have full texture on my fuselage, nose, and vertical stab....but alas as it is always with me..... ??? >:( :'(......i have no texture on my wings or horizontal stab.

The next one is even more frusterating!!!!! I am able to start up and taxi VERY slow. at just a hint of power......my plane does a sharp turn to the right and piroets up in the air and imbeds itself into the ground. Not much fun flying let me tell you when you can't get off the ground!!!

HHHEEEELLLLPPPPPPPPPP............. ???
