B737-800 with winglets for FS2002?

What aircraft have you been unable to find after a long search? There may be an answer!

B737-800 with winglets for FS2002?

Postby microlight » Sat Jul 03, 2004 6:19 am

Does anybody know if there is a B737-800 with winglets out there that can be used with FS2002? Those good Kittyhawk people haven't made their FS9 model backwards compatible.

Thanks!

Microlight,

I've been looking for the same thing.  I'll pass on what I've found so far.

The Freeware Flight Group (FFG) have several models labeled 737-800 with Winglets.  I downloaded one of them and it was well modeled and flew very well.  But, it appears to actually be the shorter 737-700.

I'm now homing in on a model by Doeke Bakker and Robert Versluys (sometimes also listed as IFDG).  At AVSim they have three liveries:

Air Europa,  B738NGAIR_EUROPA.zip.
Qantas, B738QANTAS.zip
Hapag-Lloyd, HPG738.zip

FlightSim has some of their work too, but most of the B737-800's have no winglets.

The files above don't have panels or sound.  They simply alias the B737-400 default aircraft.

Hope this helps you.

Regards,
JerryH

Jerry,
Thanks very much for the reply. I did a detailed trawl and came up with these others too:

There is a winglets model here at SimV in the FS2004 downloads section in VARIG colours. This is by FSPainter which is a designed-for-AI model, but looks OK.

At Avsim there is another version of the FSPainter plane, but in two versions - 700 and 800, both with winglets and without. (AirTran livery)

Also at Avsim there is what seems to be an FFX 800 model with winglets (although I can't find it on their website) which is in Berlin City Air colours. The model looks better than the FSPainter.

Thanks again!

:)
