Adding Sounds to 'craft'

Postby Capt.Propwash » Tue Apr 27, 2010 6:30 pm

I have a few firetrucks in FS9 that I would like to add sirens to (yes I know they have to be in .WAV format), but I am not sure how to go about either writing an .XML file to make the sirens go off and continuously go off {loop} at certain speeds, or... just add a few lines to the SOUND.CFG to make them play.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Opa, if you have any tutorials, they would be appreciated too.

Thanks for the thought, but that is one subject I have never delved into.

I would presume what you need to know is covered in one of the FS2004 SDK's however. Everything else seems to be.

Good luck on your project!   ;)

i just didnt know if you had come across a topic somewhere, or a tutorial on the site that you have all of your other tute's that talked about this .... issue.

I do know that I can take 1 sound folder (Bell Huey Gunship) and put it in the default Bell 206 {or any other helo or airplane for that matter} and those sounds will be projected / used by that craft.

But what if you want to ADD another sound????

As far as the SDK's go..... ... go look on disk 1? I know that is where the FS9 GMAX is located.

Try this:

I believe they can also be downloaded from:

http://files.fsnordic.net/Flight_Simula ... neous/SDK/

and here:

Just a thought....as horns and sirens are manually controlled.

Why not grab one of the wave player gauges. Most can be configured to play any wave file. You could then control all the various audibles; horn, wail, woop-woop, back-up, etc.

If it's an xml gauge you could probably re-do bitmaps so lables match the function.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
