XML gauges to standard .gau files?

Postby brettt777 » Mon May 26, 2008 11:03 pm

If I have the bmp's and .xml file for a gauge I need, is it possible to somehow make it work in a standard panel.cfg that uses .gau files?

Hi Brett. Providing they're installed correctly you can use any type of gauge on a panel. The panel.cfg doesn't know the difference between GAU & XML formats.

PS. Just noticed your other topics on this subject. I suspect you want this for CFS2. In that case I don't think there's anything you can do as XML gauges are not compatible. It's possible to modify the appearance of an existing gauge in GAU format with Chuck Dome's GauBmp2.

Okay you just answered my question...unfortunately not the answer I wanted to hear. And yes you are correct sir....I have an F-51 in CFS2 that I am trying to make the panel more realistic. It's very close; I only need a couple more gauges. One of them is a suction gauge. i found one in FS9 but it's a .cab/xml type gauge. I figured since FS9 can use either type of gauge, maybe CFS2 can also. Guess it's not meant to be. So next question...:
No where I can find a suction gauge or a carb air temp gauge in the .gau format???
