Question: Easy way to make a town?

Postby Soulmoon » Sun Nov 27, 2005 7:45 pm

I fly out of KMGN alot, being the closest airport to my home town of Petoskey, MI. It's always annoyed me, however, that neither Petoskey nor Harbor Springs (The two towns that share KMGN) exist at all, in any form, in FS9. Just bare grass and a few trees, and while Harbor Springs is pretty small, Petoskey is actually decently sized. It makes the entire Little Traverse Bay area look wrong, particularly at night.

So, I'm wondering... Is there any easy way to make towns, without having to put every single building there with an object placer?

I've never ventured into the creation side of FS addons, so forgive the probably stupid question and terminology.

Yes there is, by changing the 'landclass' definition of the area(s). This will render an area(s) in generic

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
