placing gauges

How do i go about placing gauges in an existing virtual panel. i use Abacus panel designer for the 2D panel but how do i duplicate it on to the virtual panel. Is there maybe a GOOD tutorial available?

I found the easiest way was to take a screen shot of the 2D panel and use that as a background in the VC, then by trial and error, the functional gauges could be placed on top of the image in the "correct locations"

I think it should be possible to be a bit more organised by checking the size and location of the background part in the model and relating it to the VC image size.
In my YAS spit there are three separate VC panel "parts"
which have to be registed with each other.

I haven't messed around with a DVC for a long time. I never got round to trying it properly but I don't see why you couldn't do this with CfgEdit. It has the option to edit the DVC windows or create new ones. If you create an actual DVC panel BMP (or more than one) the same size & shape as the virtual one you could use it as a template to place the gauges accurately.
