Adding VC-Gauges

How can I add Gauges to a Virtual Cockpit model, do i need to edit the Panel.cfg myself, or is there a Programm(Freeware) for editing it ?

Do a search for CfgEdit.  I think it is here in utilities and its also on avsim, flightsim, and fsfreeware.com.  It doesn't reder or recognize xml gauges but my workaround is to substitute a comparable .gau gauge and then go direct to the plane's panel.cfg and manually type in the name of the xml guage I wish to use. CfgEdit does view virtual cockpit views in a panel but I wouldn't know how to use it to create one from scratch.  If you can scrape up $39.99 USD you can order Abacus' panel software which is merely an updated version of CfgEdit which is able to recognize xml gauges and works better with Vcockpits. Just go to www.abacuspub.com and search  for it.

Correction.  Abacus' Custom Panel Designer is now $29.95 and is also downloadable if you have a credit card or credit/debit card.

Not that it makes much difference in this case but the updated version of CfgEdit is FS Panel Studio. http://www.fspanelstudio.com/
Abacus Custom Panel Designer is a different program. Both are payware.

How can I add Gauges to a Virtual Cockpit model,

Mr.Mugel. I'm sure you know that you can't add gauges to an aircraft with a static VC. It's possible to change the gauges (or add extra ones) to an existing DVC by manually editing the Panel.cfg [VCockpitxx] entries in Notepad. CfgEdit would make this a little easier.

There's a section in my tutorial "Simple Panel Design" on adding gauges to virtual cockpits.  The tutorial has a section on how to edit your PANEL.CFG file to add/ delete gauges.  That section tells you how to add gauges to your virtual cockpit.  You can find and download the tutorial on this website in the Design Tutorials section of this website.

If you need some help with translating words and phrases from American English into German, there's an email address in the tutorial that you can use to request help (send email to PDTOOT@COMCAST.NET).  Ich will denn sie helfen.
