Problem Repainting Default J-3

Postby Strawberry Yogurt » Mon Apr 18, 2011 4:12 pm

Hey guys, I'm repainting a fiction "Continental Cargo" paint for the default J-3 Cub. All went well with logos and such but when I went into MS Paint to add lettering, the palette got all messed up. Does anyone know how to fix or avoid this?

I might even release this paint if it gets fixed...
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.

Try flipping your texture in DXTBmp and then save it. And I could be wrong, but I think the default J3 is a mirror image texture, i.e. on one side text will be correct but on the opposite side it will be reversed. No way to fix that.

Okay. Thanks, I'll try that. I realized it was  mirror image after I saw this:

Looks fine here:

It's a shame too, that's a good looking livery. At least you now know you can paint. You just need to find aircraft that are not mirrored if you want to add text.

Cool, thanks! Yeah, I've released it on Flightsim and here at SimV, it should be up in a few hours. Here is one last pic of the new paint. And yes, muddy tires just for you, patchz...
