as requested here are some more pics of my first but bad repaint still not finished though
At school they say I'm strange because i like FSX....But here I'm right at home.

My pride and joy:
i7 860 processor - 4 Gb DDR3 Ram  - 1TB Hard Drive - 1Gb HD 5750 ATI graph. card      .....jealous???

Matching up lines is trial and error if you know what part of the texture map is for that section on top of the F-18. Just keep moving the parts of the logo up and down until you are close, then just go a few pixels at a time until you've got it. I'm not the best, and it may not be the easiest, but it works for me.  ;)

Another option is to make a big grid covering the hole paintkit, and numbering each cell.
Then you'll see which number goes where in the paintkit.

thanks for the ideas..with the grid one how would i do that? would it be better to draw it or get one (from somewhere) ?
